Burono is a colorful little island that is situated in the same Lagoon as Venice. It is build on four islands and like Venice linked with charming bridges.
Burano is an interesting place to explore and it makes for a beautiful backdrop for gorgeous photos. My photographer sister and myself made a day trip to Murano & Burano to explore the beautiful island that we have only seen in photographs before.
On our way back to Venice we got caught in an unexpected Venetian Rain storm. I had my Superga Esparilles on. This is not the first time I wore espradilles in Venice. I know better now -never again . These shoes are not made for rain and I had to take them off . For the second time in my life I walked barefoot in Venice. We also didn’t have an umbrella so we had to improvise and use my photographer sister’s reflector as an umbrella.
At dinner we were discussing all the ways we could have been more prepared for the rain, but you know what … how fun and funny it was, two gals running in the rain with a photography reflector as an umbrella and one gal barefoot with her shoes under cover rather than herself. I realized that if one always walk around with bags of “in case” and “what if’s” one will never walk barefoot in the rain on St. Mark’s square in Venice with a reflector that serves as an umbrella , and have memories to laugh about and stories to tell. Sometimes being unprepared is soul food.
But anyway here is some travel tips for your Venice trip : TRAVEL TIPS FOR VENICE
